Duke, Areva announce second of up to 12 biomass plants through Adage JV
In Florida, the Adage joint venture between Duke Energy and Areva announced that it will develop a 50 MW plant in Gretna, using wood byproducts as feedstock, that will power 40,000 homes after opening in 2013. The $250 million project is a complement to another 50 MW facility in Jacksonville that Adage plans to open in 2012.
Duke and Areva said that they expect to build 10-12 biomass power plants in total through their JV.
